Living in Melbourne
Coming to Melbourne, Victoria in January 1977 from Whyalla,
South Australia was a bit of a culture
shock, even for a twenty year old. I moved into the
Elsternwick area and took root. However, I think it's fair
to say that I mostly worked in Melbourne. A bit of a
workaholic!
Though I did buy a Laser dinghy and sailed for a while from the
club at Black Rock. I also spent some rare time away from
work helping out with a local recording studio. But once I
found my way in to
gliding as my main interest/sport, Melbourne was where
I worked and Waikerie, South Australia was where I
played.
The introduction of a partner in to my life in 1986
changed many things, including a move to Kew, taking up horse
riding, and then having the Marcus Ward architect designed
mud-brick house
built and moving to Glenaroua.
Thus, I found myself living in the country and
commuting to Melbourne. I had a small, comfortable
mud-brick home to the north of Melbourne in the Glenaroua
area on 33 hectares (82 acres) of land. I
lived there from Easter 1990 until October 2005.
As a result of meeting and establishing a relationship
with a new partner, in October 2005 I moved to Cranbourne
North in the outer suburbs of Melbourne. This lady also
introduced me to the sport of scuba diving.
A new relationship had me initially still living at Cranbourne North,
and in April 2012 we moved to a really nice home in Frankston South.
When that relationship ended, I moved down to Rosebud on
the Mornington Peninsula. After two years in Rosebud I moved
to Blairgowrie, and after a further two years, in April 2020
I moved to Rye.
After five years living in Rye, on 18-19 July 2025 I moved
to Moss Vale in New South Wales.
