| Divemaster: Andy Lowther Boat: "Midnight Rambler", Tom Wende, OzDive & Boat Charters Organised with Andy Lowther to join up with him for this interesting boat dive as a pre-cursor to my Deep course the following weekend. Met up with Andy and Sam at The Scuba Doctor while getting my air fills. Also met Tony and Deb who were heading down to Portsea for a pier dive. Suggested we might get together for a pier dive after my boat dive. It was a quick trip over to Foggy Reef and we arrived right on slack water. We quickly geared up, went in and descended down to the kelp beds at the top of the wall. Then down the wall, turned left and followed it along. The soft corals and fish were brilliant. Came across a very wary small shrimp. Started the ascent just as my dive computer hit deco time. Andy deployed his SMB. (I must start to use mine regularly.) My dive computer seemed to want to keep me forever at the 15 metre ceiling and then didn'r want to clear me past the 3 metre ceiling. But eventually we were all back on the surface. We headed back in to Portsea, changed out of our gear and we met up with Tom in the coffe shop to swap stories. |
