| Foggy Reef is located at the very Southern end of the Lonsdale Wall system, on the Northern side of Port Phillip, Victoria. Entry/Exit: Boat. Foggy Reef is a series of chasms, ledges and caves coming off of the main wall area at the southern end of Lonsdale Wall. The site is very prone to the incoming swell from Bass Strait. It starts at around 12 meters supporting excellent kelp cover amid rocky reef. Prolific fish life inhabit the trenches where vibrant corals and other invertebrates flourish. Lots of colourful soft corals, rock cod, shrimp, starfish, sea squirts, sponges and eels. Best dived on the ebb slack when the incoming tide brings divers back into the bay rather than taking them out to sea. Location GPS coordinates from Divers Guide - Port Phillip Heads Marine National Park. |
