Divemaster: John Lawler, VSAG
Boat: "Miles Ahead", John Lawler's 6.5m 175HP, Sorrento

The other boat decided they had had enough for the day. John thought he wasn't going to top a dive on Awesome Reef, and decided to sit the second dive out. We had originally intended to do the second dive at Rosebud Reef, but because conditions were looking like they could turn anytime, we decided to do a drift dive nearby.

Adrian, Michael, Benita and I all went in using the one buoy line. At first I thought we were over the exact same spot as last week's second dive. But soon realised that wasn't so.

We dug in and stopped a few times to investigate some ledges and overhangs. At one such stop, I had a fish quite close that was letting me pat it.

I found a couple of bottles that I bought home.

As always, the reef formations and marine life were simply delightful.

At the end of the dive there was a boatload of very happy divers after a simply brilliant day out on the Port Phillip Bay.

We headed back into Sorrento, extracted the boat and our gear. Then we all headed off to The Scuba Doctor for air fills, some cold drinks and lots of interesting discussions.
