Dive Captain: Alan Storen, VSAG
Boat: "Miles Ahead", John Lawler's 6.5m Haynes Signature, 175HP, Sorrento

We headed down to Sorrento, stopping in at The Scuba Doctor's on the way. There we also met up with Dave Kelly, Ken and Takae.

Once at the top boat and trailer parking area at Sorrento boat ramp we met up with Alan Storen and were sooned joined by John Lawler. We loaded gear into the boats, changed into our dive gear and launched the boats.

Cheryl and I were in JL's boat with Alan Storen. Ken and Takae were in Dave Keyy's boat.

Conditions weren't great and the forecast was that the wind would be getting up, but we headed towards the heads, through the heads and outside. We decided to dive the J4 Submarine, but Dave Kelly was going to try out a reef near the ex HMAS Canberra.

We put a shot line down onto the J4 Submarine and JL and Alan started to gear up. But conditions soon became worse and we decided to head back in. Dave Kelly called off diving on their site and came back in with us.

Once back in we decided to do a drift dive. When our turn came, Cheryl and I descended and did a gentle drift dive.

By the time our dive was complete conditions had got worse and we decided to head back in.

We recovered the boats, unloaded them, changed back into our street clothes and headed to The Scuba Doctor in Rye for air fills.
