| In July 2010, I purchased a right-handed 90 mm Diameter Stainless Steel Narrow Spool Ratchet Diving Reel (# 47) with 40 metres (130 feet) of yellow nylon line on a 90 mm diameter narrow spool from Kent Tooling & Components, in Kent, UK. The quality of the design, engineering and construction of the Kent Tooling & Components products is just magnificent. This reel can be used in either free-spool or ratchet mode: To get free-spool mode, you lock the trigger in the "down" position using the spring-loaded pin on the side of the trigger by rotating the black knob, and clicking into place in the deeper slots on the castellation. To put it back into ratchet mode, you simply do the reverse, the pin clicking into the shallow slots of the castellation. |
