Dive Captain: Alan Storen, VSAG Boat: "Miles Ahead", John Lawler's 6.5m Haynes Signature, 175HP, Sorrento For our second dive we headed over to North Wall Corner on Lonsdale Wall. David Geekie put down a shot line and Christine, Cheryl and myself geared up as we waited for slack water. The two friends of Dave's rolled in first and went down the shot line with the current still running a bit. As we were only needing to get one dive in during slack water, we waited a bit longer. We rolled in, drifted towards the shot line and descended as we came to it. We followed the line down . . . and down . . . and down. At 25 metres I figured we should have come to the top of the wall, but it was nowhere in sight. Come 30 metres it was obvious the shot was over the edge of the wall. So I turned around and started ascending gradually and making my way back in the direction of where the wall should be. After a while, with nothing but water in sight and being mindful of Cheryl's inexperience at the depth, I decided to call the dive. I shot my DSMB and ascended to do a deep stop at 19 metres. Then we slowly ascended and did a safety stop at 5 metres. We made it to the surface and back onto the dive boat. By now the wind had picked up quite a bit, so we headed back to Sorrento. Once the boat was retrieved and unloaded, we changed out of our dive gear and headed back to The Scuba Doctor for air fills and a chat.
