| The Jubilee Point dive site is located near Sorrento on the back beaches of the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, facing south-west into Bass Strait. It separates St Pauls Beach to the west and Diamond Bay to the east. There are many curving gutters and alley ways around the reefs. Jubilee Point is best as a boat dive, however, there are intrepid souls who like to dive and snorkel from the shore here. Entry/Exit: Boat. I'm not 100% sure as to exactly where we were. Best I can figure it is that it was somewhere in the area of Jubilee Point on the Back Beaches of Nepean Peninsula out in Bass Strait, Victoria. This certainly was a very interesting dive site. There were many curving gutters and alley ways around the reefs. It is quite obvious that this could be a very dangerous place in the wrong conditions. Also that it is very important to keep an eye on the sea conditions throughout the dive as they could change quickly. We had some nice surge happening. I suspect this would be very typical of dives in the area. Location GPS coordinates from Google Earth. Approximate location only. |
