I recognized this as the first part of the "Polar Bear" puzzle, which has two more tiers to it. Nice article!

This is a very neat game; basically it's about paying attention and knowing when to look outside of the box and when not to. in this game's case, you look for complicated ways of solving it at first, but just by re-reading the instructions you realize it's not that hard.
