Looked at it for five minutes, then took a shower. Of course, the answer came to me in the shower.

Took me a while, but I finally got it. It's so simple once you get it.

So so simple... once I saw it. There go all my mathematical algorithms.

Ack! It should have been easier than I made it. It took a while, and I started thinking along the right lines for a little bit, but ran into a dead end.
Finally got it, though. Yet another way to pretend I'm smarter than other people! YAY!

Loved it, I really enjoy this sort of lateral thinking puzzle. And best of all It doesn't need heavy maths techniques, just a bit of insight!

I absolutely love torturing my friends who claim to be smart with this. I can almost see the algorithms turning their brains into mush as they try and find the pattern. Schadenfreude how I love you.
