After trying in vain to discover some mathematical formula I reread the introduction, and noticed "The name of the game is important.". After staring a bit at a 5 I got it

I got this fairly quickly. Just from the intro paragraph I presumed it was going to be a problem where you have to notice something other than just the numbers on the die. First I assumed colour, but then I thought about the name of the game. I had it in < 5 rolls.

Interesting, but very simple. Took 2 rolls, after seeing what the first answer was it was obvious.
Thanks

seeing is believing 8-)
I read the article, and saw it after the 5th or 6th roll.
However, if I had just guessed zero each time, I'd have won the first 5 or 6 times 8-) 8-)

That was fun. I've got to add some standard dice to my portable game bag, now, to go along with my Zendo pyramids (www.wunderland.com/WTS/Kory/Games/Zendo/)

Got the rule only after the 4rth roll even though I guessed roll 2, 3 and 4 right (maybe I was just lucky)

Took me 10 minutes. It's funny how something so simple could look so complicated.

nice.... solved it directly after reading that the name is significant.
Probably did it because I've been exposed to another such game some time ago. Can't show it here since it involves drawing. It has however been shown in an episode of stargate sg1.

Excellent puzzle, took only a couple of minutes but I can see how it would drive you insane. I just ignored all the math I know.
