My Grandmother taught me, actually made me figure out, this game when I was a little girl. I had forgotten about it until now. Guess I should teach my own kids now.

Heh, cool. I saw the puzzle mentioned on a recent ask /. article. A little over half an hour of refining my algorithm did for me. So do we get t-shirts or somthing? :-P

The different colours had me confused for a while, then I tried this version: crux.baker.edu/cdavis09/roses.html and finding a combination with the answer of 0 helped me figure out the solution..
