Thanks to our local columnist Jon who pointed the way to this site today. Took me about an hour but I finally figured it out---whew! Brain got somewhat of a much needed workout.

I passed mensa's entrence exam in 1966. I do not easily think outside the box. The caveat "the smarter you are, the harder it is to solve" pointed me in the right direction. Once I got the answer, it did seem trivial. Didn't seem so trivial the previous 45 minutes.

I was ready to kill the local newspaper columnist who talked about this website in the paper this morning...but then I figured it out so I guess he can live after all smile

It was fun - and, I must admit, VERY easy for me. The first roll of the dice, I looked and saw the pattern right away and every roll after that produced a correct response. I'd like to think I'm a genius.....but then, I would have invented Microsoft or some such bazillion-dollar company, right? cool

I got the answer in about 5 minutes. It's rather obvious once you see it.

Very interesting puzzle. This would be a great bar game. Poor Mr. Gates -I would have expected him to do better. I bet Steve Jobs figured it out sooner!

I had somewhat of an idea on my first roll, but I assumed one thing wrong. On the second roll I got it.

Really good fun.

Even after you figure it out, you sometimes are too quick and get it wrong. What an interesting way to practice outloud!
