Excellent puzzle....still strikes me as a bit necromantic, but I got 30 in a row after about the 7th one, so I guess I've got it right...

Ahh, finally got it. Took me long enough. I came really close to the solution early on, but got distracted by certain aspects of this online version that do not apply to the game.
Great fun.

The colors are a smart diversion. Definitely going to pass this around.

The different colors were pretty, but sneaky. Hmph. Glad to have figured it out for myself, though, even if it took a few minutes to do so.

A cool little puzzle. Pity it doesn't work in Firefox.

I got it to work in Firefox by moving the whole javascript to AFTER the /body tag,

(which is, i know, wrong-o, but it works sometimes...)

and doing a strict definition on all the variables.

(using
document.form.GuessBox.value = "" ;
instead of
GuessBox.value = "" ;)

I dropped the whole document between form, /form tags...
