We headed down to The Scuba Doctor and proceeded to modify my single cylinder Apeks ATX100 regulator setup and spare Suunto console with Gekko dive computer for use by Cheryl. The battery in the dive computer was flat so we changed it. We also purchased and setup an OMS IQ Pack harness with a single bladder OMS wing for Cheryl. I'd ordered a new set of Apeks XTX200 regs for myself but they'd hadn't arrived. So I grabbed the left post regs from my twin cylinder setup to use for the dive. No occy, but it was only going to be a shallow shore dive. We headed down to Blairgowrie Pier so that Cheryl could have a checkout dive in her new setup before heading off to dive in Indonesia later that week. We parked, changed, kitted up and made our way out to the landing. The visibility was good and we proceeded to slowly checkout the pier. Cheryl came over and showed me that the Suunto Gekko dive computer was acting up. It thought it was at 60 metres and into deco already. Later I noticed some fishing line trailing from Cheryl's glove. A hook was caught on her glove and the barb was preventing me from removing it. So I grabbed her dive knife and cut the line away. We had a great dive together checking out lots of interesting marine life. Back at The Scuba Doctor afterwards we checked the Suunto Gekko. It was still acting up, yet everything looked fine phyically. No water inside. Looks like its packed up. We swapped a borrowed Suunto dive computer into the console for Cheryl to use on her trip.
