I actually found this from another site and started trying rolls. I managed to get it in about a half an hour because I started out with a theory that was wrong but led me to the right answer. Great game. I've driven so many friends crazy with it!

so i'm playin for like 20 minutes, absolutely clueless, but the whole time the number of petals was always in the range of 0 to 6.....and then all of a sudden, the answer is 16! I'm like, what the funk? Then the answer came to me, and it was good. Fun ga

I solved it in 5 minutes, but i guessed it wasn't the kind of puzzle i thought by my 20th or so throw.
