It took me about an hour and a half to work it out.
I think I was trying to be too complex about the solution, so i started thinking a little more laterally and BINGO!

Took me about 50 rolls of the dice. But actually I found an algorithm, didn't use the info about the name of the game (now, two weeks later, I know the non-algorithmic way to solve the problem).
