I managed to solve this by writing down fourteen patterns (two for each solution from zero to twelve) and studying it in the bathroom.
Though i must say i feel like i've only half-solved the puzzle. That is, i can always answer correctly, but i have no clue what the significance of the name is!

Took me five or ten minutes, thinking hard between rolls. I didn't get it until I switched to another version of the game, which doesn't have coloured dice.
I had a couple of really good theories going there for a few rolls!

Took me 5 minutes to figure out how to get the answer. Took me 3 hours to realize what the name of the game had to do with anything. Too smart for my own good as my dad always used to say.
