I did it!! It only took me 10 minutes but I finally figured it out. Wow, that was awesome!

My friend sent this to me in March. I tried back then and to no avail.... until I completely forgot that it was in my bookmarked section until now.

And FINALLY, FINALLY I solved it. Good stuff.

It's one of those "it looks so hard, but you smack yourself when you figure it out" kinds of things. Brilliant in its simplicity.

interesting puzzle =p at first I thought it would relate somehow to Fibonacci's Sequence, since the number of petals on a flower is always a fibonacci number. That proved wrong after the first 10 seconds. Then after 5 min of guessing, I started getting the correct answer intuitively w/out knowing why, until finally entertaining the idea that the solution was more "outside the box". Total time: 10 min.
