Petals Around the Rose: Fraternity Register

This took me a little while, but I got it. Post-solution, I looked online out of curiousity, and there are FAR too many sources of the answer, including Wikipedia.

A beautiful little little puzzle and an equally cool website to celebrate it.

Took me about 30 seconds to work it out.

Pretty simple really, and not that difficult. You just need to think laterally.

When my husband found out about this, he spent a long time solving it, then tried to convince me that I should try to figure it out too. Not my cup of tea, but once I had it, I was pretty proud of myself...

I solved it, I'm so proud of myself!

My impatience paid off for once. I only stuck to each attempted method for about 3 rolls before I decided I must be trying too hard. My boyfriend is convinced that he must be smarter than me because he hasn't figured it out yet, as though I must be simple to have found that it has a simple solution. I think he's just stubborn. We'll see how smart he feels once he figures it out.
