I am an eighth grade math teacher and I issue this challenge to my students every year to see if they can join the 'Polar Bear Club.' The kids love it, unless they cannot figure it out. Then it drives them nuts for the entire year.

wink I managed to get it within three dice rolls, literally in less than a minute. The teacher who introduced me to it was impressed.

I got it! A friend was going to take me through it last week, but we didn't have dice. I made a paper set, but they were insufficient. The simulator got me through it. Fun puzzle!

I really just stumbled across the answer. I tried it about 2 years ago, gave up after an hour; and then now I tried again, more or less guessed on the first try and lucked out, and then I figured out why.
Interesting game. Thanks, Mr. Borrett!
