big grin I figured this out a while ago and learned there was a website. I have be doing it with my students and so far (Nov.) I've only had three figure it out, one with the math formula, one with observation and one by memorization.

I didn't time myself but I did spend a fair amount trying to get it and reading through the Bill Gates Story to help me. I think one of the main problems, other than not getting it wink was that music. Is its purpose to annoy you thus preventing you from getting the answer until it stops? razz (stick out tongue)

Fotunately I was lucky enough (I'd love to claim that it was in the genius in me, but that would not excatly be the truth... wink ) to solve the puzzle in about 10-15 minutes or so. Actually the idea hit me when I started to read the Bill Gates story in frustration (Didn't bring much patience with me that night). And as most others will probably agree: that idea hit like a really heavy hammer.

Anyway my regards to the inventor of this riddle!

Can't say it was easy for me, but I'm quite shocked the answer eluded me for so long, hopfully I'll gain something from this loss of 5 hours of my life smile

Fun!

The first roll I thought I had to guess before rolling the dice. Second roll I was getting the idea. Third - solved!!!

Too many clues in the text.

i guess i'm not as bright as some of you folks here... i couldnt figure it out the first time i played the game, and then completely forgot about it. i happen to come across the website and thought i'd give it a shot. and this time, it only took me couple minutes! i was impressed with myself... razz (stick out tongue)

ei, that's the same thing that happened to me. I have a theory, if on the first try you do not succeed, try again and maybe on the second try you will succeed in equating, er hehe, I mean realizing the answer.
