That's awesome.
Thanks for making me feel smarter than Bill Gates. Go the non-mathematical brains!

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

This is going to be a first for ANY of you guys:
I had NO CLUE what the so-called "formula" is, and I have no idea yet how this game relates in any way to a rose; However, I did get the right answers over 15 times in a row, by comparing them to the answers that I had gotten earlier.
Somehow, Odd makes it go up, Even makes it go down, somehow....

For clarity's sake, its "I still have", instead of "I had"

Been instructing for 28 years. Have actual membership cards with a red rose printed on them. Years of fun.

I too worked it like a math problem for 3+ hours untilli was sure i had the right formula, that worked for 3 rolls in a row, but eventually i iread the instructions againa nd figured it out.

It took me hours to figure it out
First I tried using equations to get it, but that didn't work. Afterwards I gave up on the equations and started looking for patterns, but I was stumped every time the answer was 0. Finally got it though lol

I was going nowhere, spent about 10 minutes staring at the game, then read the account of Bill Gates. As soon as I read "The name of the game is Petals Around the Rose, and that name is significant" it hit me. And then I got it right away. And yes, I realize that's on the game instructions, but it didn't click until the second time.
