wow!! what a relief after i had solved the puzzle. It was challenging and at the same time frustrating especially when your friend already got the pattern of the puzzle..
Look at the bright side of the puzzle and you got the answer.. Just focus on the clue: The answer relies on the name of the game.

aahh! The game is somehow frustrating yet so very easy once you determine the pattern. The answer sure really relies on the game title "Petals around the rose".

Okay, that was a little too easy.
Not that it was easy to figure out though, just too easy to feel stupid for it taking so long.

A bit of chatlog:
Llyr: *blink*
OtherGuy: in my not getting it ness
Llyr: I got one right.
OtherGuy: yeah, me too a couple times
Llyr: I got another one right.
OtherGuy: the thing i don't get is how the name has anything to do with anything
Llyr: Up to 4.
Llyr:
OtherGuy: lemme know if you hit 10
Llyr: Okay.
OtherGuy: and then HELP ME FIND IT!!!
OtherGuy: >_<
Llyr: "Correct again! We think you've probably got it."
Llyr:
OtherGuy: bastidge
Llyr: I am a potentate.
OtherGuy: MAKE WITH THE HELPY HELPY
Llyr: I can tell you three things.
Llyr: *evil grin*

I was turned on to this game by a member of another forum
>>> http://www.bargainshare.com/index.php?showtopic=51985&hl= <<<
For once, my "math" outdid my teenage son's!
Even after a big hint, he still pouted, and sulked his way back to Warcraft...And he want's to be a marine engineer! Hmph.
Glad I learnt about this.

Easy stuff...
admittedly, the first 10 mins it took were VERY frustrating, esp. after hearing all of the people saying how easy the game is... (you guys don't help!)
Tip to novices:
FOCUS ON THE NAME OF THE GAME!!!
petals around the rose
Remember: all roses have the yellow stuff in middle!

Wow!!! Who says it does not includes mathematics? It was indeed a whole bunch of calculation. Those about 20 minutes of brain squeezing, it is so good that I got it fin'ly.
It's mathematics with which subracting the clue is the constant. You need to get the constant!!!
