I was stuck on this all morning, but then I tried the same problem at a different website that said "there are xx petals around the rose" every time it gave the answer. It feels too much like cheating to me! But I worked it out using just that. Now I understand how important being a heartless wretch is when a Potentate of the Rose smile.
