This day was origninally planned as a "club" dive for some of that hang out at The Scuba Doctor. A chance to get some of the cronic shore divers out onto a boat. Organised by Heather, Ed, Matt, Peter and myself all made it a date.

I've been told by everyone that the Lonsdale Wall is a special place to dive. Well if what I saw today at Lonsdale Wall Shallow, and only going down to 22m is any indication, then I definitely want to get back and do the real thing.

Abord the dive boat, Heather, Matt and I buddied up, and Ed and Peter buddied up. Though we actually spent most of the dive as a group of the five of us.

We waited for slack water and eventually Bob gave us the go to get wet. We then headed down the shot line to the top of the wall at around 12 metres. We then went down the wall and mostly worked our way along the first ledge. Visibility was effected by the ebb tide, but it was still okay and there was certainly plenty to see.

The marine life was most interesting. Plenty of large fish, including some iridescent Blue Devil fish. Hev found some very nice macro stuff as well.

We turned around when I was down to about 120 bar. I decided to work the shallower part of the wall to extend my no decompression dive dive. Plenty of swirling seaweed there.

Heather eventually suggested it was time to ascend. We had agreed with Bob that we only do about a 40 minute dive so that we were out of the water when the current started again. Again, back on board with plenty of air in my cylinder.

Back on shore we changed. Matt, Ed and myself went and treated ourselves to ice creams and then we all headed off to The Scuba Doctor to unwind and tell tall tales. Well we found some others already on the couches and well settled in. Dave had even bought along a large cray already cooked. So we all settled in and had a feast while we talked.

Yet another great days diving and great people to share the day with. We must do some more of these outings together soon.

Back home and to bed ready for my TDI Nitrox course the next day.
