I had played this in middle school with my favorite teacher and just came across this while reading a teaching blog a few days ago. I could not for the life of me remember, but then it came back to me in my sleep. No kidding. I really woke up knowing the answer. Always loved this game!

After getting very frustrated the first time I attempted the puzzle I quit. I came back to it today and re-read the instructions. After a couple of minutes I felt like a complete idiot for not seeing the solution.
