I have figured the puzzle out as a 10th grader

i was the only man strong enough in my class to find the answer and a proud member of the fraternity

This is a fun game. I really enjoyed it. I am going to try this with my students this school year.

Awesome! I'm going to try this with my middle school math students. It took me a while to figure it out. I was over complicating the algorithm.

I did not know that there was a fraternity for Petals Around the Rose, or I would have been a member in 1985!
This was a favorite puzzle that I used to stump third and fourth graders who were ahead in math. I was always "a cruel and heartless wretch", and frustrated a lot kids because I wouldn't give clues or tell them the secret.
Nice to join the "in crowd", better late than never!
