The two of us (10-year-old and 42-year-old) printed out the 'Bill Gates...' article and pored over it at bedtime. There were charts made and theories proposed and discarded, but by lights-out we'd gotten it. Thanks for a fun evening!

Brilliantly simple! I got it in under 6 rolls but I was struggling.
