I've been playing with this damn thing for about a year now. Once I pondered the name of the game in a more philosophical nature it became very clear.
I thought to myself a "the petals are the rose, so what is a rose without petals".

it took me about more than an hour to break it (half an hour for dinner  ).
i break it after googling for a while and found a site where there is a flash version of this game.
i wonder how many person back in 77, where bill gates solved this game, break the game??? is there no one beside bill??

That's one tough puzzle! Someone ought to keep track of the "hints" given in these comments. I'm sure that I read somewhere that calculus wasn't needed. I could have spent months trying to solve it, but then it struck me... sorry, I'm sworn to secrecy.
