I got it in like ten minutes. It was a good puzzle. My Dad showed it to me today.

This game's been driving me nuts since 6th grade when a teacher played it with us. I'll always remember her nasal voice intoning, "the name of the game is 'Petals Around the Rose.' The name of the game is significant. The answer is always an even number..." I could never find anyone who knew it to play with me so I could get it...thanks to this site, I finally got to play again, and I think my soul can now rest in peace. Thanks!

Took me about 10 minutes, I was just about to give up. And I got a drink. When I glanced back at it for a second before closing it, it just hit me

Nice puzzle. It took about 15 minutes to figure out my first theory wasn't working. And then it just "hit" me. This was a good puzzle.
