I hate the frustration and inner imbalance caused by not getting these kinds of problems, combined with the sense of failure when I look up the answer! Fortunately I got this one fairly quickly...

Nice puzzle.. it'd be nice to use a 20-sided die or something fun like that 
My next Ruby on Rails program (actually, my first) should be petals around the rose (heh.. and I won't call it petal around the roses)
