Petals Around the Rose: Fraternity Register

It took seeing the examples from Bill Gate's experience. I got it after about halfway through. My grilfriend's working on it after I showed it to her... :-D

I was sitting in a chatroom, trying to script for my client, whilst some other chatters were playing this. I absentmindedly looked in and saw the pattern after they had played 9 rounds. I had partaken in only 3 of which. ^-^

10 seconds, got it on the second try. I must be an idiot. I do have a MS in pattern recognition, though

This test is very evil! I wasted a few hours trying math to figure this out. Before I noticed the pattern.

Took a hard look, and a real consideration of the name.. but I got it.

Two trys and ten minutes, way too easy.

That was fun. My friend sent me a link as a distraction from some of my work, but once I looked, it was cool figuring out the pattern. I figured it out through the name, but my friend said he took two hours, and had only done it through brute-force-cracking, and didn't even figure out how the name factored in until much later.

Spent too much time on a false assumption about 'rose' and 'petals', specifically what part of the game those terms were referring to. Spent some time collecting and recording rolls and answers to see whether order was significant, answer was as I expected. Grouped all the rolls together into sets having the same answer, saw the patterns come out starting from the low numbers. Took about an hour. Yay.

It took me awhile, probably about 30 minutes. I kept trying to ADD stuff together. LOL. I knew the name had to be significant, but couldn't figure out how or why. I even tried adding up the letters of the name!
