I went to another website that has the same challenge, but present the dice slightly differently (in their alignment).

One second of seeing them another way and it clicked!

This was the first in-class "assignment" back in high school physics, and I couldn't figure it out...until, on a whim, I found a Petals engine on the internet and figured it out in two tries. Maybe it was the time spent figuring out the rule to Deep But Not Profound, another brain teaser great for p*ssing people off.

I listed the sequences of numbers and answers for a whole hour before reading the instructions properly! What a great way to learn not to use a sledgehammer to crack a nut...

Wow, i finally figured it out. It took me about an hour or 2 but i have got to get myself some die so i can try this at school.

That's a good challenge for those who can think simple. I just overcomplicated things, it's a simple as that.

cool I FINALLY got it! Everyone I know who knows it was right, you feel relief when you get it, and you also feel slightly retarded for not getting it faster!

That was pretty interesting ... I actually wrote the results (took me about 15 rolls) and also wrote down the real numbers to make sure the dice weren't there to "confuse me". But when that yielded nothing, went back to thinking about the dice and it came up pretty quick after that.

Could see this taking 5 minutes or forever, depending on your state of mind.

hehe..at first I thought I didn't read the background info so thought it was some game invented for PC so that kind of lead me in the wrong direction, but when I heard it's played with real dice too, it didn't take that much more time to solve wink
