It took me two tries as well. I think it matters how many mind puzzles you've done before, and whether you are trained to think the outside the box for these things.

It took me two tries to figure it out. Its quite easy, i was surprised how long it took people who started playing before me to figure it out- and now im surprised at how long bill gates took to figure it out!!
