Petals Around the Rose: Fraternity Register

Awesome! I'm going to try this with my middle school math students. It took me a while to figure it out. I was over complicating the algorithm.

I did not know that there was a fraternity or I would have joined long ago. took me a while to figure out the trick but so rewarding when you do figure it out

I did not know that there was a fraternity for Petals Around the Rose, or I would have been a member in 1985!
This was a favorite puzzle that I used to stump third and fourth graders who were ahead in math. I was always "a cruel and heartless wretch", and frustrated a lot kids because I wouldn't give clues or tell them the secret.
Nice to join the "in crowd", better late than never!

It took me little time to understand the algorithm behind a game for which a genius like Bill Gates took several hours. Now I feel a little less failed than I did before. Thanks Bill!
