I am by first instinct a visual tinker... strange as I am an Engineer. I believe that this was a tremendous advantage.
I read the title of the puzzle over a few time and suspected that this may be more of a visual than numerical puzzle. I went with this instinct first try. Pretty cool!
I vow never to reveal!
