Solved in 3 rolls. Completely baffled by the fact that the previous signiture doesn't get the relationship between the name and the game. The name of the game IS the solution.

It follows that we're all still essentially stupid.

To take pride in solving this is sheer vanity. But it's nice that there are some people that are too stupid to even solve trivial things like this. This just means that there's a big pedestal of stupidity and by solving this we have a small edge over the rest.

Figured it out after 10 mins or so... I don't get how the name applies, though. Fun game!

After 5 rolls and a bit of scribbling, I cheated and read the Bill Gates story. It sorta gives away how to think about the game, doesn't it? And knowing how to think about it is most of the way to figuring it out. But do I qualify for the Fraternity anyway?
p.s. This reminds me of the Game of Forks (or matchsticks, or really anything that can be arranged into cryptic patterns on a table). Anybody else played that version?

Curious, Gates does it in 15 rolls and I do it in 8. Why am I not the richest man in the US?

This game did not work in Firefox, but I read the Bill Gates account of the game, and figured it out without much problem. Interesting puzzle though, I will definately be playing it with others.
