Boy, do I feel dumb... it was right there all along. Nice puzzle. I'll have lots of fun with my friends on this one.

It took me about 20 minutes to get frustrated, then I read about good ol' Bill, took about 30 seconds after that.

I've literally looked at this several times over the past few years, with scores and scores of rolls each time before giving up in frustration. If it's true (as I've heard, and is born out by Bill Gates' experience) that the smarter you are, the longer it takes, then I'm a genius.
Strangely, I don't fel any better about it, or myself, for finally cracking it.

Got it.
If you could specify combination of dice (basically setup the dice values) and have the computer calculate the score, it would have been much easier; actually it would be a no-brainer.

Played with friends in high school. Our friend from Korea showed it to about 5 of us. I was proud to be the first to figure it out, in about 10 minutes.

As a self-professed math geek, this was NOT something that came easy to me. I will do my best to make sure it does not come easy to anybody else, either.

Wow the name of this puzzle is so significant to finding out the answer It took me about 8-10 tries to work out what was going on, i feel great now
I'll be sure to show this to my friends and see how good they are at it, i shall never disclose the secret of the puzzle to anyone
