Petals Around the Rose: Fraternity Register

My boss gave us this puzzle in a meeting, telling us he had to cheat to get the answer. I was the second in the room to figure it out after about 30 minutes. Therefore, unlike my boss, I can sign this register

Maybe it was a lucky guess, but I got it on the third roll.

Spent 5 minutes just playing with the engine. Then I read the Gates story. Then I got it in 30 seconds.

Clever.

even though everyone says the answer is really simple, i still think its rather complicated :P

What in a name

After reading a little part in the 'Bill Gates' story, I figured it out.. So it took me about 3 minutes, I guess

But then again, anybody could just say that..

I don't get how the name of the game has anything to do with the actual algorithm.

"The computer will roll five dice and ask you to guess the score for the roll." This makes it seem as though the game is limited to a display - which suggests that the order and orientation of the virutal dice might be important.

Why don't you add a line such as "although you can play anywhere with any ordinary dice..." to remove that red herring?

Nice work on the messages as you demonstrate your skills, though.
