Its interesting to note that this problem could perhaps be solved using a statistical bruteforce i.e. by going through all the 6^5 possible combinations, which is only about 7776 which is not a lot.
you can do this by obtaining a large enough sample size (say, in the magnitude of 10,000-50,000) sorting them by the number of petals and the answer would become quite apparrent with mainly 3's and 5's popping up frequently when theres a large number of petals.

this game isnt really a "problem" in the sense of a mathematical problem, buts its more of a test.
the open-endedness of this game is distracting, so its kinda testing us to see if we just can spot the very simple, almost trivial strategies. i think thats why many 'smart' people (no generalisations here) take relatively longer because they tend to "overthink" the problem.

He-he-he, maybe that is why relatively quickly the solution came to me~at best my math skills would be kindly said as 'archaic'!! LOL :=))
