Hi Lloyd, I found a reference to you owning a Yamaha DT175 whilst Googling for info, my Girlfriend and I are doing a rock climbing/motorbike trip that involves starting at KL, Malaysia then thru Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam (leave bike on Chinese border) China, Vietnam (pick up bike), Laos, Thailand, finish Bangkok and should take us 4 months, cover about 6-7,000K with an all up weight of approx 170kgs plus bike, speeds will be mostly 80-90klm/h on decent roads less on others.
There aren't many references to the Yam around, can I ask if you had any problems with the bike? We've previously ridden round Thailand etc on bigger bikes but Vietnamese law dictates a bike less than 175cc so we're a bit stuck in selection options! |

Well I think I bought mine in 1975, and had it for a few years before trading it in on a Honda CX-500.
I never had any problems with that bike. Indeed when I'd go out on trail rides in the mallee scrub of Eyre penninsula with mates, I'd find I'd be able to keep up easily with the much bigger bikes, and certainly be less tired at the end of the day.
Sounds like a fantastic adventure you are setting out on. Enjoy. _________________ Live Web Sites:
